The Tree of Light
The Tree of Light is the perfect way at Christmas to remember your loved ones or beloved pets.
Remember your loved ones with The Tree of Light
The Big Switch on – Saturday 18th November 2023 at 5pm
The Tree of Light will shine bright in Kings Square, Gloucester this year. Every year we launch Christmas in Gloucester with a huge tree adorned with thousands of lights. In November, we will hold our usual spectacular switch-on, led by Father Christmas, the City’s Mayor, Councillor Kathy Williams, the President of the Rotary Club of Gloucester, Chris Rawlins, and others, all hosted by BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Jon Smith.
Please support the Tree of Light by leaving a message and making a small donation to help us help others. Every penny counts and goes directly to support our local causes.
The Tree of Light gives you the opportunity to display a message for family and friends or commemorate a loved one by supporting local charities at Christmas time.
The 2023 Tree of Light is a spectacular tree which takes pride of place in the city centre, at the Oxebode entrance to the all-new Kings Square. Decorated with over 10,000 lights , the Tree of Light stands as a festive beacon to goodwill during the busy Christmas shopping period.
The Tree of Light has become a real community focus in the City Centre since its launch in 2011. Almost £86,000 has been raised in that time, all for special charities. Donations from our many business sponsors and generous support from members of the public have helped us make a real difference to the lives of local people and charities every year.
