Rotary Club of Gloucester Young Artists Competition

The prizes for Gloucester’s heats of the Rotary Art competition were awarded this weekend by the mayor of Gloucester; Counselor Kathy Williams. She was impressed by the quality and the imagination shown in the work. 

In the under 17 Category students at Bridge Training made a particularly strong showing, with some surreal compositions and excellent draftsmanship. The winner was Evan Tawney and his certificate was collected by Sue Smith on his behalf. 

In the under 10 category the winner was  Daniel Matumba of Willow Primary school in Tuffley. The Runner up was Winter Griffiths who is in year 5 and will compete in this category again next year. 

Chris Raulings (Rotary Club of Gloucester President) said that the winning compositions will now go forward to the Rotary national composition after being exhibited at Llanthony Secunda from January 15.
